The Greatest Story....

Luke 2:1-20 New International Version (NIV) The Birth of Jesus 2 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

How are we LOVING?

We love this time of the year! Time that people are more thoughtful than most...which is sad if you think about it. We should be thoughtful all of the time. I was watching this program this morning and thought I'd share it with you:http://www.joycemeyer.org/BroadcastHome.aspx?video=What_Is_True_Love_-_Pt_1 (Just so you know there is a part 2 that is great too) So how are we going to be the hands and feet of Jesus this holiday season. Two years ago we challenged you to do something every day that is thoughtful, out of your comfort zone, something that shows the love of Jesus through your actions for someone else. Let's do it again! We might ask you if you completed your "challenge" for the day. We don't want to know what your challenge is/was...only that you completed it. The Bible says: John 13:34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” How are we loving each other? I know I'm not doing my best...so I'm gonna change that! Praise Jesus!

Favorite Devotional Book?

So do you have a favorite devotional book? We'd love to know what has really helped, spoken, grown you... Please comment here or on our FB page what your favorite one is. Some of ours are: 31 Days of Prayer by Warren and Ruth Myers Jesus Calling- Sarah Young The Purpose Driven Life-Rick Warren We were thinking that if you have some favorites devotionals around your house that you are not using, maybe we could bring them to class one day and swap them? We have some we can bring... I'd put your contact information in the book and who ever takes your book can contact you to give it back when they are done. This would have to be on the honor system... Anyone interested?

Go and spread the Good News!!

Jesus said to his followers, "Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone." Mark 16:15 So what does this mean for us? It means we have an obligation to go to the grocery store and share Jesus. It means that we are to go to the park with our kids and share Jesus. It means that we are to go across the street to share Jesus. It means that we are to go to the ends of the earth to share Jesus. It also means that we should be uncomfortable until we do this! Being a Christ follower is not easy! But the Bible says in John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends." How much do we love our friends? Enough to be uncomfortable telling them about Jesus when it could mean that they might think differently about us? Yes, it means that! Our lives are called to be different! We are to talk differently, look differently, act differently. We are to show this lost world that Jesus is our light and they need to see that! So, where are you going to share Jesus? Let us know....

What? Summer's over? Now what???

So who is ready to come back to ZUMBA at TSC?? We are so ready to see everyone!! Over the summer we have worked hard coming up with a few new routines and praying about what needs to be worked on this year. With that being said, we need your help!! We are in need of more ladies to help with being on the Welcome Team (greeting ladies and getting them checked in) and Prayer Team (coming early on Thursdays to pray over names and the room and with any ladies that might need someone to pray with them). If you are returning this year and want to help with one of these 2 groups, please email us at zforc@hotmail.com. We also have a few new things to talk about. This year we will be having bracelets that will be your "check in." We are not going to be signing in any more. As soon as you get your participation agreement on Thursday at the meet and greet, you will take it home and fill it out and bring it back to class on Monday, August 19. Once we go over your participation sheet you will get your bracelet. From then on you will only have to wear your bracelet and show it to the ladies at the door to get in class. Please be responsible with these bracelets. If they are lost we will have to charge you for another one. We are also asking for a $1 donation for each class. You can drop your donation in the box as you show your bracelet to the ladies at the door each class. Breakdown session will start in September on Mondays at 6:00 and abs will start on Thursdays only in September.

How's your walk, ladies!!

So March is here. The spring reminds me always of the cross and the beginning of new life. So, I'm asking you, how's your walk been? Are you struggling? Are you mad a God? Are you feeling alone or don't know where to begin? We have all been there! I'd love for you to share with us and one another what study you are doing. You can tell us what book of the Bible you are working through or what study you are participating in. I know that I'm always interested in finding new material to use. I want my time with God to be a time where I can really grow. There is a lot of material out there that is wonderful. This could be a great spot for us to make a reference place for wonderful material that we would suggest to others to get. What do you think? I'll start. I found this blog a long time ago. The author is a homeschool mom with awesome redecorating skills and that is what first drew me in. After searching and reading her story I found out that she had a portion of her blog dedicated to the story of Moses and it was written as a daily study. This is what I have been reading lately. I love it and think it is a great study of Moses and the Old Testament. http://www.playingsublimely.com Scroll down the page till you see a bright pink box on the left side titled Women Near The Cross. I think I'll start Angela Thomas' book Beautiful Offering next. Anyone read that before? We just want y'all to know that you are beautiful (inside and out). Let's be an encouragement!! Get to know us better...

So we were thinking that we could get to know each other better this month. We are going to ask that you think of questions that might help us do this. During class we are going to ask for 1 question and Candace and I will happily answer it. Then we will ask you to tell your answer to someone as you leave or get a water break. Now, the questions don't need to be difficult. They can be as simple as what is your favorite color, or how did you meet your husband, to what is the worst thing you have ever tried to cook. So start thinking!! We need your help! If you even want to email it to us or put it on here or or FB that would be great too. Let's invest in each other.

New Year, New Attitude?

Happy New Year, ladies!! We hope you had a great Christmas and New Year with your family and friends. We had a great holiday and are completely ready to start back to the healthy lifestyle we had before Christmas...anyone else out there with us? As we think about the new year and making those resolutions, we are hoping that we can resolve to be better in the eyes of God! Our verse this month reflects our hopes of 2013 entirely! Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. How often do we get mad or have a bad attitude? For me it is more times than I can count. My resolution this year is to take time to breathe and recall this verse each time I'm at the end of my rope. It's time for me to remember that all my actions and words need to reflect the Savior who is living in me. That's how the world can see me being different! I want to be different, therefore I need to act differently. There is nothing on this earth that is worth it to me to cause someone else to look at my witness and not see the Father! Y'all with me? I need your help to hold myself accountable on this! I would like for us for the next year to really memorize the verse of the month. Maybe even quoting at the beginning or end of class would be great for me (sorry I'm being selfish, but I learn by repeating). I don't want to take God's word lightly! I want to live and breathe it! I want to share it! Your thoughts? Let's start this month! Say this with me (out loud) Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. Write it on a card. Carry it in your wallet, put it on your mirror or in your car. Let's be the salt and light! Can't wait to see y'all soon!!
